Celebrating 100 years of Joan Watson

Join friends, family and former colleagues in celebrating Joan Watson’s 100th birthday on 21 August 2022.

Joan went to South Asia in 1962 aged 40.

She taught in a Bible School there until 1973. She returned home for some years to look after her parents whilst continuing to teach in her native Isle of Man.

She returned to South Asia in 1983 where she helped in Christian outreach work to students and was responsible for orientation courses for newly arriving missionaries.

When it became impossible to renew her visa in 1984, Joan moved to a different country in the region and a Mission Guest House for a time, and after that went to teach in United Bible Training Seminary until she retired in 1990, and returned to the Isle of Man.
