You will have seen the news about the devastating flooding in Pakistan. As a community we feel compelled to raise funds for people in Pakistan that have been hit hard by the flood. From the emails and phone calls we have received we know that many of you have a heart to do something too. Will you stand with us and give a gift to help the people of Pakistan?
Your donation will be channeled directly through a known network of trusted workers and organisations on the ground who have a track record of making a great impact in people’s lives and who are currently doing all they can to support those affected by the floods in Pakistan.
Will you pray?
It’s unbearable to watch, unbearable to think about. Homes, belongings, livelihoods swept away. Gone, destroyed, irretrievable. Post-pandemic, this has been one devastation too many for families and communities in Pakistan.
How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? (Psalm 13:1-2)
The people of Pakistan cry out in pain. Tears fall; tears of anger, injustice, tears of mourning as families grieve lost loved ones taken by the merciless, incessant rainfall. Crops, animals, tools of the trade: destroyed. Now what?
Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death. (Psalm 13:3)
Where there is suffering, our God sees and His heart breaks. He is the God of compassion, and He moves His people to act in the face of injustice, brokenness and hopelessness. Will you be the answer to prayer that enables people to cry out with joy, saying:
I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me (Psalm 13:6)
