Set young hearts on fire this Christmas

Jesus’ call to share the gospel is for all of us. There are many examples in the Bible where God uses young people –  from Mary, a young teen when Jesus was born, to David, anointed as a shepherd boy. Young people are not just the Church of tomorrow – they are the Church today, actively serving and growing His kingdom.

At Interserve we take this seriously, envisioning young people through conference engagement and university mission events, equipping them through our Friendship First student course, and supporting and preparing those undertaking short-term On Track placements, wherever they may be.

Paul, a young adult from the North of England, recently spent a year overseas with Interserve’s On Track programme. His experience brought transformation both for the people he served and his own walk with God. ‘I was blessed and thankful that I could take a year out of my medical training to serve at a Christian hospital in Asia. I’d been praying about having the opportunity to experience and serve in a resource-poor setting, particularly in a part of the world where Christianity is not the majority faith. I felt very blessed, but also incredibly challenged by living alongside local brothers and sisters and local communities of different faiths, seeing what life looks for those guys, working as a doctor there and really being welcomed into their family for a year.’

By supporting young adults like Paul as they follow Jesus, you will be an integral part of seeing lives and communities transformed through encounter with Jesus. As our Young Adults and Digital Engagement Co-ordinator, Quy Ma, says, ‘Everything counts when you spend time with the younger generations. Every interaction and conversation can build to something that God is doing in their lives.’

This Christmas, you can support what God is doing in and through students and young adults, by inspiring and equipping them to put their faith into action. As you pray for this work, you are taking part in God’s plans for the nations as you stir up the hearts of young people to serve Him, both here in Great Britain & Ireland and overseas.

Your kind donation today of £50 could support the training and equipping of young adults to step out in faith and see lives transformed through encounter with Jesus.
