Head of HR/ Member Care - Interserve Office (Milton Keynes)

An excellent opportunity has arisen at Interserve, a forward looking Christian organisation involved in wholistic cross-cultural ministry in Asia, the Middle East and Britain.

The post is a senior leadership appointment with responsibility for both HR and the Member Care Team. You will oversee the screening, placement, orientation and support of those in long and short-term service overseas, as well as the appointment, training, development, and care of office staff members.

Leadership qualities and flexibility are essential, as are skills/experience in HR/ Member Care and cross-cultural ministry. CIPD training is highly desirable.

Closing date: 12th September 2008

Starting salary: £26,532 - £29,815 p.a.

South-East Asia - Technical advisor for housing/micro finance programme 

A need for someone to provide technical support for a housing micro-finance programme that provides resources in terms of technical support and revolving funds in order to build the capacity of target communities to address housing-related needs in rural SE Asia.
Qualifications: Engineering/construction/micro-finance -related qualifications or community-development degree
2+ years experience in community development or housing-related area
Demonstrated ability to manage revolving funds
Demonstrated project management experience
Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity, and to work in a team environment

South-East Asia - technical advisor – community education

There is a need for someone to assist in the formation of self-reliant and less impoverished communities through the provision of technical advice and expertise in community education, by coaching local staff in project management and evaluation, and by assisting with staff and program development.

Advocate, Central Asia

Based in central Asian city with travel in the region. Applicant will work closely with student groups, poitical groups, local government offices and church leaders to engage in the process of democracy building work, supporting and encouraging groups and engaging in workshops, linking through the agency with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy in London.

Experience in student work and political advocacy an advantage, as well as an interest in community mobilisation, human rights, legal and public policy work.

This is a role which requires the applicant to raise his or her own team support.
