Prayer 12
For some time now, we at Interserve have sensed the prompting of God to get back to our faith roots; to recapture the vision and passion to serve, demonstrated by our first workers who set out by boat for India nearly 158 years ago.
Our response is to issue a call to prayer. That call is to Interserve supporters and the wider Christian community as we utilise all means at our disposal with the invitation to participate with us in the 12 months to May 2010.
We are embarking on a prayer adventure with God that we believe will take us into ‘deeper waters’ as we reconsider the cost of being cross-cultural disciples of Jesus in the 21st century.
Prayer12 – Interserve’s year of prayer, is the name we are giving to this adventure. We have set aside a year, starting in May 2009, to pray that Interserve will re-capture God’s passion and heart for his work as we look to its future both here in England
and Wales, and overseas.
Like all adventures we expect the journey ahead to be a real mix of experiences:
exhilarating, rewarding, hard work, fun, risky, even painful. And we would love you to be part of it.
The following pages give further information about how you and your church, homegroup and friends can be involved. If you are looking for a way to serve God at the cutting-edge in an initiative that has both a start and a finish, involves networking with others and is ever so slightly mad, then ‘Prayer12’ may well be it!
So please join us on this journey. We want to do this together.
