Step into Justice

Step Into Justice – the Interserve Campaign 09 is part of the charity’s Prayer 12 initiative, 12 months of prayer for Interserve and its work, throughout 2009. The campaign will run for nine months from January 2009, visit numerous schools and churches up and down the country, promote the international justice issues of hunger, homelessness and thirst to hundreds of thousands of people through a co-ordinated media (including social media) campaign; raise up prayer for the work of Interserve in these areas and invite people to make a financial response.

In delivery terms, it will be inclusively promoted, by ‘external’ advocates, internal staff and faithful supporters, who will all have the opportunity to engage their churches and their neighbours and friends in the campaign.

I welcome and thank Andy Reed MP, Gary Streeter MP, David Burrowes MP and 2008 award winning soap actress Emma Rigby who have agreed to headline the campaign.

Of course, we could not do anything that we do without the foundational backing of our supporters, many of whom have prayed for years for the work of Interserve. Many have given financially in support of our workers both overseas and here in the UK. If you are a supporter reading this I want to invite you to participate in Step into Justice – the Interserve Campaign ’09 – so that together, we can corporately and with one voice speak up on behalf of the hungry, the homeless and the thirsty.

I believe that this campaign is an outworking of a part of God’s plan to raise the profile of some of the ongoing work that continues to be done by Interserve workers in over 30 countries in the world.

Thank you for your support,

Alastair McIver
Head of Communications Interserve
