Population: Around 91 million.

Main religions:

Sunni Islam is the main religion in the region.  There are large numbers of Christians in the region, primarily Greek and Russian Orthodox.  Small numbers of Hindus can be found in the region, mainly in Afghanistan, and a few Tibetan Buddhists are also present.
