Who can go?

On Track is different from many other short-term mission programmes. On Trackers work in difficult conditions in challenging countries, with extreme weather conditions, a lack of Western comforts and spiritual opposition all playing a part. Some On Trackers also feel challenged by the huge need that they see in the countries they visit and struggle to see how they can make a difference. The On Track programme is challenging and stretching, so a strong Christian faith, personal flexibility, and a sense of humour are essential.

Married couples are very welcome to go On Track – couples frequently serve on the On Track programme and this can be a good way to see if both of you feel called to cross-cultural mission work.

People with disabilities are more than welcome to apply to the On Track programme. Bear in mind that parts of the Interserve world are very remote and Western comforts are often absent, so it would be a good idea to discuss this with Interserve so that we can find a placement which best suits your situation.

It is also very important to have the support of your church. Interserve always works with the local church in everything we do, so we will contact your church leader to ensure that they support your plans to work cross-culturally with the On Track programme.
