Bomb attack in Lahore
On May 27th a large bomb attack was carried out against the headquarters of the police and the ISI (the Pakistani intelligence agency). Gunmen attacked guards before detonating a car bomb which killed at least 24 people and injured more than 200. The police response building was completely flattened by the blast and the ISI building was damaged. The Taliban, who are currently fighting the Pakistani government and who have carried out terrorist attacks in Pakistan in recent months, have claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it was in retaliation for the current Pakistani Army offensive in the Swat Valley.
The Interserve Team Leader for Pakistan said this:
“All our partners in Lahore are OK, but saddened by the latest incident.
We appreciate your prayers for all of us in these uncertain times. Please pray that none of us would be in the wrong place at the wrong time, by His grace”.
Please continue to pray for peace and stability to return to Pakistan and that God would bring good out of these terrible acts of terrorism.
