Tring school event
David Russell directs students who are building an injustice wall.

The first Step into Justice schools event took place at Tring School in Hertfordshire at the beginning of April.

Rev David Russell, minister of Northchurch Baptist Church, led on the theme ‘what makes you angry?’ and had 6th formers engaging with many of the injustices of the day, from sex trafficking to sanitation, from hunger to homeless, and many more.

Alastair McIver spoke on ‘corruption equals poverty’ and Interserve’s political engagement, and before questions from the students, there was a response from the local MP, David Gauke, who talked about the importance of co-operation and globalization in tackling the issues that were raised.

The specially made dvd – with its call to action - by Interserve Ambassador, actress Emma Rigby, was shown at the end, and the students were able to take away with them some facts and stats cards about the homeless, the hungry and the thirsty, as well as On Track information.

The schools events continue in June, in Enfield, then Loughborough, and finally Plymouth in September.
