Community Development

Homeless people

Community development seeks to empower individuals and groups of people by providing these groups with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities. This forms a core part of Interserve’s work since many communities across the Interserve world are affected by underlying social problems. Many people in our world live on the streets, unable to earn money, unable to provide for their children, without a secure place to live, vulnerable to addictions and to abuse, and without any assistance from the welfare systems of the West.

Interserve Partners assist these people by providing assistance where local governments and authorities do nothing. We seek to improve their quality of life in sustainable, long-term ways and to give them the skills to help others. We do this because we believe that Jesus came to give us “life in all its fullness” and that everyone in the world has the right to live a life that is full in every way. If you would like to get involved, please contact us.
